An in-depth study of the chapter of fasting from the renowned Hanafi text, Mukhtasar Al-Quduri with Ustadh Muhammad Umer Asif.
Students will cover the entire chapter with English commentary, key points to be covered are:
• the obligation of fasting • types of fasts and their conditions • sighting the moon and its related rulings • that which invalidates the fast and that which doesn’t • conditions, necessities and pillars of fasting • the relied upon (mufta bihi) positions in the Hanafi school, discussing disagreements in the school between earlier and latter imams • the fasting of the sick and travellers • disputed new age fatwas on what breaks the fast; eyedrops, eardrops, injections, blood withdrawal, inhalers etc. • rulings relating to i’itikaf
