About the course
The 25th of Safar marks the death anniversary of the reviver (mujaddid) of the previous century, the Imam of Ahl as-Sunnah, Imam Ahmad Raza Khan. He spent his life in service of this religion and left behind a wealth of literary contributions. Among his famous works is a book on the prohibition of reverential prostration, prostrating to other than Allah. He dedicated an entire work to this subject, titled: الزبدة الزكية لتحريم سجود التحية spanning over 150 pages, to set the record straight and affirm the Islamic stance on this practice. In recent times, groups who claim to follow the righteous predecessors attribute this horrendous practice to the followers of the Imam, unaware that he had written a refutation of it over 100 years prior. To commemorate the Urs of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, Ihya us Sunnah will be hosting an online Hadith recital coupled with a seminar based on the aforementioned book. A complete recital of Chapter 2 will take place, wherein the Imam gathered 40 prophetic statements on the prohibition of this practice, along with suitable commentary. Students of knowledge may seek an ijazah linking back to the Imam through multiple routes from Shaykh Muhammad Umer Asif, in order to preserve this spiritual lineage. 📅 Date: 8th August 2026 🕓 Time: 4pm (UK time) 💻 Online event
