Tawaf

What duas should I read during tawaf?

There is no fixed dua for each circuit of tawaf, so ask Allah in your own words and your own language. Between the Yamani corner and the Black Stone recite Rabbana atina, and at the Black Stone say Bismillah, Allahu akbar.

No fixed dua for each circuit

Apart from a few reported words, no other fixed duas are reported from the Prophet ﷺ. In the rest of the circuit ask Allah in your own words, recite Qur'an or make dhikr. Glorifying Allah, praising Him, saying that there is no god but Allah and that Allah is the Greatest are among the most common words of tawaf.

At the Yamani corner

As you pass the Yamani corner you may say: O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and safety in this world and the next. Between the Yamani corner and the Black Stone recite Rabbana atina.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbanā ātinā fi al-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi al-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāba al-nār

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
