Tawaf

What is the Multazam and how do I drink Zamzam after tawaf?

The Multazam is the wall between the Black Stone and the door of the Kaaba, a place where dua is accepted. Drink Zamzam standing and facing the Kaaba, making dua as you drink.

The Multazam

If it is not crowded, stand at the Multazam, the wall between the Black Stone and the door, press your chest and cheek against it and make dua there. Do not push anyone to reach it.

Drinking Zamzam

Drink Zamzam standing and facing the Kaaba, in three breaths, and ask Allah for what you need before you drink, for the Prophet ﷺ said Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for (Ibn Majah). The well is no longer open to pilgrims, so drink from the fountains and containers around the mataf and in the masjid.

What comes next

Return to the Black Stone for one more istilam, and then go to Safa for Sa'i. See how to perform Sa'i.

Drinking Zamzam

اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا وَاسِعًا، وَشِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka ʿilman nāfiʿan, wa rizqan wāsiʿan, wa shifāʾan min kulli dāʾ

O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that benefits, provision that is wide, and healing from every illness.

Reported from Ibn ʿAbbas (Daraqutni)
